The Workout Buddy System
If you’re looking to lose weight, get fi t, or just lead a healthier life, exercising on a regular basis is crucial. If you’re short on time, tired, or just bored with your current workout, staying motivated to train can be pretty difficult.
That’s why I like the workout buddy system.
With the buddy system you choose a friend, colleague, or loved one to be your workout partner. Sure, there will be times when your individual schedules may make it challenging to train together, but for the most part you will try to take the same classes, head to the gym at the same time, and do similar workouts, so be sure to choose someone who has the same goals for their body and life as you do.
Exercising with a friend is especially helpful in the beginning months when working out and eating healthy is still new and difficult. Here’s what the workout buddy system can do for your workout routine:
- Make it more fun, duh. Instead getting on a treadmill and counting the minutes until it’s over, you can take a Zumba class and laugh with a good friend, go rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking — there are many workouts that won’t even feel like a workout when you do them with our workout buddy.
- Increased accountability. With a workout buddy you’ll be held more accountable for your workouts. On those days that you feel like skipping you won’t be able to. Your workout buddy is relying on you!
- Motivate you. If you’re starting to get bored with your workout, or you’re just not seeing the results you want, your friend is there to help motivate you and encourage you to keep on going.
